Stooges manager, producer, director (and Moe Howard's son-in-law), Norman Maurer signed a deal with Jubilee Publishing (a company owned by Archer St John). This first series of Stooges comics contained only two editions and featured Curly Howard as the third Stooge.

| Fours years after the Jubilee comics, Norman Maurer along with his long-time friend Joe Kubert created a new series of Stooges comics featuring Moe, Larry and Shemp from 1953 to 1954. This series by the St. John Publishing company (a company owned by Archer St John) featured seven comics, including two 3D editions, one of which was touted as being the "World's First 3D Comic" (although this distinction was actually taken by St John's Sept 1953 "Mighty Mouse" comic, which was released a month before the Stooges 3D book).

After a five year absence from comics, Norman inked a licensing deal with Western Publishing to print and publish "Three Stooges" comics. Through a partnership with Dell Publishing, the comics were sold under the "Dell" name. The books were a part of the Dell Four Color series, which were known for their beautiful "photo covers". This series featured nine regular editions plus specials for "The Three Stooges Meet Hercules" and a Comic Album (#18).

In 1962 the Three Stooges comics changed from being sold under the Dell name to Gold Key, after Western Publishing decided to start doing its own in-house printing. There were 45 regular editions, including special entries for Stooges feature films "The Three Stooges in Orbit", "The Three Stooges Go Around the World in a Daze", & "The Outlaws is Coming". |

In 1986 an unusual series of comics were introduced, with three "troll" characters by the names of Jerry, Harry, and Larry. Although there was no official recognition, the trio was recognized as a parody of the Stooges.
There were a total of 17 original Trollords comics produced between 1986-1988 as well as a "Classic"edition in 1995. Pictured below are the ones that I have in my collection. |
